Peter formed Mathews Hunt Legal in 2010 and has almost 20 years exclusive expertise in body corporate/ strata law.
Peter has crafted MHL to offer high-level legal expertise while delivering quality services, legal value and ensuring our staff are decent, talented people - with a genuine client commitment.
Peter is a highly respected and experienced expert body corporate lawyer. Reflecting that, he was made a Fellow of the Australian College of Community Association Lawyers.
Dr Kate Mathews - Special Counsel
Dr Kate graduated Melbourne University in Law (Hons)/ BA (Hons) in 1989 and attained her Masters in Law in 2009.
In 2016, as an Assistant Professor, she completed a prize-winning doctorate at Bond University. She has advised the ACCC, Toyota, Komatsu and many other large corporates.
She is one of the best contracts lawyers, complex advice providers and risk management strategicians around - in our humble opinion!
Hayley Gath - Senior Associate
Hayley is a very experienced, dynamic body corporate lawyer.
Reflecting her legal ability and talent, she has been a Senior Associate of MHL for several years already and her work is loved and respected by our many clients.
Hayley completed her law degree at Griffith Uni and joined MHL as a graduate solicitor over 8 years ago.

Brooke Cunningham - Lawyer
Brooke joined MHL in 2022 and holds Bachelors of Laws and Psychological Science.
Since her admission in 2024, Brooke largely assists bodies corporate with management rights matters ranging from variations to the preparation and negotiation of new agreements.
Jacqui Coates - Paralegal
Jacqui joined MHL in 2012. She has over 25 years’ experience as a paralegal.
Jacqui has particular expertise in levy recovery and the amendment of Community Management Statements.
She provides reliable, knowledgeable assistance to ensure compliance and smooth scheme management, and prides herself on clear communication and prompt detail-driven support.
Karen Thomas - Paralegal
Joining MHL in 2012, Karen is a paralegal specialising in levy recovery and our accounts management.
She keeps our firm running smoothly and provides valuable expertise to our levy recovery department having been in the industry for over 17 years.
Georgie Minehan - Paralegal
Georgie has been with MHL since early 2024 and provides day to day support with levy recovery and the amendment of Community Management Statements, among other duties.
She is developing a strong knowledge of body corporate law and focuses on clear communication, attention to detail, and delivering efficient assistance to our clients in her day-to-day work.
Kia Price - Paralegal
